Pelvic Floor Tension/Pain

Pelvic floor muscle tension or pain can occur within the group of muscles that form a supportive sling for the bladder, uterus, and rectum. Various factors can contribute to this condition, including muscle imbalances, nerve or joint issues, scar tissue formation from surgery or childbirth, endometriosis, or radiation therapy. Additionally, pelvic pain may arise from conditions like hemorrhoids, anal fissures, organ prolapse, or constipation.

Individuals experiencing pelvic floor pain or tension may encounter symptoms such as painful intercourse, difficulty sitting, and pain in the buttocks, hips, lower abdomen, or lower back.

Muscular imbalances surrounding the pelvis can lead to conditions like Vulvar Vestibulitis, Vulvodynia, Interstitial Cystitis, or Vaginismus.

Rehabilitation approaches for pelvic floor pain/tension may involve pelvic floor relaxation training, manual therapies, postural correction, therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulation, and biofeedback techniques.

By addressing these factors and undergoing targeted rehabilitation, individuals can find relief from pelvic floor pain, improve their muscle function, and enhance their overall well-being.
