Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL) Tears

Lateral collateral ligament tears (LCL) are relatively infrequent compared to other knee injuries. The initial treatment approach involves rest, ice, elevation, and compression to manage pain and swelling. Subsequently, bracing and rehabilitation are implemented to support the healing process and restore function. It is worth noting that surgical intervention for LCL tears is not commonly required.
