Fractures (Broken Bones)

Fractures can occur on either the outer or inner side of the leg. Common signs and symptoms of fractures include pain, swelling, and noticeable deformities in the affected area. X-rays play a crucial role in diagnosing fractures as they provide essential visual information. Immediate "reduction," which involves aligning the broken bones closely together, is necessary to promote proper healing. In severe cases, open surgery may be required to effectively realign the fractured bones. To ensure stability during the healing process, pins, plates, and screws are often utilized to maintain the alignment of the fractured bones.
