What you do at home matters just as much as what we do in the clinic. Maybe more actually. We spend maybe an hour with you each week. You control the other 167 hours to either help or hurt your recovery. So we take the at-home stuff seriously.
Home Exercises
Our home exercise guidance is as much customised as your in-clinic rehab. You will get a list of movements that specifically target your situation. We will make sure you know exactly how to do them before you leave. We would rather spend extra time explaining than have you do something wrong for 2 weeks.
Bodies are unpredictable. Sometimes you heal faster than expected. Sometimes it is slower. Sometimes an exercise that worked great last week suddenly does not feel right. We keep tabs on how you are progressing and change things up when needed. Flexibility is key – literally and figuratively.
You will be excited about when you can go back to your game. You will ask “when can I run again?” But we make sure you are healed properly. You should not rush yourself back. We are in this for the long haul. We will give you a realistic timeline and gradually build you back up with sport-specific stuff.

FAQs About Sports Injury Therapy

It depends on a lot of things. A minor sprain might be sorted in a few weeks. A torn ACL could be months of work. We know that is not the answer you want. But it is the truth. What we can tell you is that we will give you a realistic timeline once we have actually seen your injury and assessed what is going on.
Nope. You can just book directly with us and we will take it from there. If we think you need scans or need to see a specialist, we will sort that out. But you do not need anyone’s permission to come see us first.
If you have got any scans or reports from your doctor, we need those. Wear something comfortable that lets us actually see and work on the injured area. We will tell you over phone if you need anything else. If your insurance covers it, bring those documents too.
Some bits might be uncomfortable. Working on injured tissue is not always pleasant. But we are not going to torture you. We work within what you can handle and you can always tell us to ease up. Pain is not the goal here. You need to go back to your life safely and fully healed.
